Dear friends in yoga,

Wishing you a belated very very happy New Year 2013!
Firstly, let me thank you for your support this last year and the many kindnesses you extended, the smiles you gifted and the lovely energies you have brought to class every week. I am filled with true gratitude, as you are my true teachers!

May this new year bring you health, joy and the coming closer to your heart’s desire! How wonderful it is to open ourselves to listening to our hearts more closely this year… our hearts possess a particular intelligence and yet most often we allow our minds to lead.

At this time of new year’s resolutions, I invite you to explore the concept and tremendous value of reflection … of letting things arise from the deep recesses of our hearts and souls. And so I decided to share with you quotes on this topic for you to reflect and meditate on.

Together let’s find the courage to clear our heads and go inward to listen to our hearts! Have a fabulous 2013!

“The soul always knows what to do to heal itself.
The challenge is to silence the mind.”
-Caroline Myss

“Take up one idea.
Make one idea your life – think of it,
dream of it, live on that idea.
Let the brain, muscles, nerves, and every part of your body
be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone.
This is the way to success.”

-Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902)

So long as the thoughts of an individual are scattered he will achieve no results, but if his thinking be concentrated on a single point wonderful will be the fruits thereof… Once the sun shineth upon a concave mirror, or on a lens that is convex, all its heat will be concentrated on a single point, and that one point will burn the hottest. Thus is it necessary to focus one’s thinking on a single point so that it will become an effective force.

-‘Abdu’l-Bahá (1844-1921)

Yoga Nidra can help you learn how to relax, develop self-awareness, change deep-seated habits, allow you to experience positive changes in your sleep patterns, develop a positive and balanced outlook on life, enhance your creativity and manage your stress levels. A regular practice of Yoga Nidra helps to awaken your true nature. You will leave completely relaxed, with more energy and clarity … a beautiful lunchtime practice. You can even come in your regular clothes.
